I am a Newcastle based artist specialising in portraiture using various mediums including oil paints and photography. I will use digital photos with a high enough resolution to create a piece of art that really captures a personality and true likeness of the person. In order for me to achieve this, I generally use more than one photograph to get an understanding of the personality of the subject.

Although I have developed my skills towards creating portraiture, I am versatile and continuously accept commissions that will push my creative boundaries. I have been commissioned locally for bars and restaurants and the style of work varies for each individual business. Creating something that is aesthetically beautiful and interesting is what motivates me to be an artist and to continue creating.

I studied the ‘arts’ at college where I learned skills in textiles, photography, sculpture and fine art. I then continued my education at Northumbria University, enrolling on the BA Hons fine art degree. Following that, I studied to become a teacher of further education and hold a PGCE in Post compulsory education.

My aim is to share my passion of the arts and make art accessible for everyone. I believe that art is important for health and wellbeing in this ever-expanding society, and being able to help nurture those skills whilst bringing people together is essential.
